PatternTheories is a research and publishing platform dedicated to uncovering the macroeconomic, geoeconomic, technological, and behavioural patterns shaping the future. We deliver in-depth reports and articles, freely accessible to the public, with the aim of equipping decision-makers with clear, actionable insight.

Our work focuses on global shifts — from private markets and the AI arms race to emerging venture ecosystems and the transformation of economic power across regions.

At the core of our philosophy is a simple belief: systems can’t be fully understood from within. Like Gödel’s Incompleteness Theorems in mathematics — which show that a system must be viewed from the outside to grasp its full logic — we approach economies, technologies, and institutions through the lens of adjacent systems and broader context. Only by mapping the surrounding terrain can we truly see the pattern.

PatternTheories draws on insights and feedback from professionals in global capital markets, technology, and policy. Many of our reports benefit from informal review by trusted voices with experience at leading institutions.

Their hands-on experience — across regions and industries — enriches our research and helps us trace the deep interconnections that shape the global economic landscape.

Founded by entrepreneur and investor Aleksander Meidell-Hagewick, PatternTheories began as a private research project. In 2024, communications expert Robbie Crabtree encouraged making its work public. With creative director Jelena Franco joining shortly after, the platform launched officially in 2025 — driven by a shared curiosity about how the world works and what comes next.

Our published reports reflect this philosophy — combining structural thinking, cross-domain expertise, and systems-level analysis to reveal the patterns shaping global change.

Our publications benefit from informal peer review and feedback from a network of professionals in finance, sovereign investment, energy, health, and emerging technologies. This network includes contributors with experience from institutions such as Mubadala, Goldman Sachs, Bloomberg, Pareto Securities, and other global capital allocators. While individual contributors are not named, their insights help strengthen and stress-test the ideas we share.
